Before the Eider mouth damming in the year 1973 the interplay of low and high tide caused the ground to be flooded by ca. 70 cm twice every day. The stranding of a scow here gives a clear hint on the formerly marine conditions. This scow lined the wayside for many years, until the relentlessly progressing rust necessitated its replacement by this wooden barge. (Signpost next to it)
